The Curse...

Crysanthemums...... They are Everywhere!!
Unspeakable Secrets Are Hidden Within the Forbidden City.. Tang Dynasty China.. One King.. One Queen.. His Power.. Her Rebellion..

I finally managed to catch a movie today with Guppy (read: Glenda.. this new nickname is given by my buddy, Catherine.. Hahaha...) after like months and months and months of constant nagging..

See... The thing is, Guppy has to work on Saturdays and during the weekdays, she would only be able to get to town around 7.30pm earliest. If we were to watch a 9+pm movie, it would be too late as the next day is a working day. Not forgetting that we would have to fill our tummy's with some solid food. So, you get my drift..

Catching this movie was kinda impromptu and I was glad that we watched it. :D

The colours on the screen were nothing but gold and pink and blue and red and silver and and and.. Hahahaa.. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the movie... And that's the best part, right??

Gong Li was good and convincing in her role as the Queen... Her errrmmm chest was good too.. So was Chan (played by Li Man) - the palace maid in charge of the Queen's hourly Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, Pig, chinese medicine.. Chow Yun Fat - the unscrupulous Emperor who sent his men to kill the whole family of his 1st wife - Jiang Shi (played by Chen Jin), and ordered the Imperial Doctor to have this Persian Black Fungus to be added to the Queen's mediation (a mere 2g of this daily would make a healthy person go half-wit in months...), all coz he found out that she was having an illict affair with his eldest son aka Crown Prince Wan (played by Liu Ye) (who's birth mother is Jiang Shi).. Now, Jiang Shi married his Imperial Doctor (played by Ni Dahong) coz he saved her life after she escaped from being killed.. Oooo...!!! Crown Prince Wan was having an affair with Chan - who is his Step-Sis!! INCEST!! The youngest son - Prince Yu (played by Qin JunJie), who was quiet and innocent turned out to be the one who killed Crown Prince Wan coz to him, his parents didn't give a hoot about him and his aspirations. And lastly, how can I forget JAY CHOU!!! Oh my................... He play's the filial 2nd son, Prince Jai. He's good la.. He was the filial son who grew worried about his mother's health and of course her obession with the golden flower... He came back into the palace after being punished for something he did 3 years ago and was sent out of the palace, helped his mother in her rebellion and he did it all for his mother although he knew that he was fighting a loosing battle... Sigh.. So filial...... And In the end?? I'm NOT revealing this part... Please go watch it, okay??

Okie, I've almost summarized the whole movie.. I can't help it.. My hands and mind just kept on typing and typing replaying the scenes over and over again in my mind.. Hahaa.. Hope I didn't spoil your curiousity..

I was cursed... Cursed to catch this movie....... And I simply love it!!
