Frosty the Oven!!

I was happily preparing the stuff for baking Maple Walnut Raisin Cake Bread yesterday with the help of partner.

After preheating the oven and having the walnuts roasted, it was cooled for a while, while we started manually, whisking and and adding and whisking again. After pouring the mixture into the almuminium trays, off they went into the oven to be baked.

In approximately, 10 mins later, a loud BOMB was heard. I looked everywhere and finally at my oven. And what a shock I had!! The glass panel of the oven door was cracking!!!!!!!!

I could hear the cracks crickling.............

I grabbed my Baby (who was standing only a meter away from the oven), and off I ran into the living room while partner proceeded to turn off the main switch of the plug to my oven. Glendan and I were only standing a feet away from the oven and Baby was the closest to it!

Can you imagine, if any of us, especially Baby were hurt???

Luckily, the middle glass cracked. But surely, if we were to open it again, the outer layer glass would come crashing down, "beautifully"....

I told my partner that my cake bread is definately GONE and we would have to throw it away. So, 10 mins later, Glendan proceeded with utmost care to open the cover and brought out the 2 trays of cake bread. And guess what?? It was then that Glendan noticed that the inner glass hadn't broken and the cake bread were safe and sound.

We then proceeded to preheat my microwave oven and continued baking it in there.

Well, I'm glad to say that the final verdict was good. Hey, I used 100% Pure Canadian Syrup, you know..

We brought a couple of slices to our friend's party at Bayshore in the evening, and they all said that it's yummy...... My Mum also said that it's yummy. But bro said no taste.. Well, it's individual's preference..........

The technicans would be here on Wednesday, to fix up the damage (obviously the manufacturer's fault)... And if they were to so ask to be paid, they'll get HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So for now, I'm taking a short Xmas break.. Heh!
